Mixed Messages

Tuesdays at 3:00PM

Before Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, there was music!

Music was the social media, usually found blasting from A.M. radio stations across the nation.  The message was the music and it still is today, you can still find it on the radio.

Catch Mixed Messages with your host, David Oldenburg, Tuesday afternoon from three until five.

Sometimes a musical time machine- songs that catch you unexpectedly and take you back to  a certain memory. Sometimes you will  hear songs that will fit into making memories.  David has added music you may have never heard before, sometimes the best songs sometimes never get any airplay  Some may call it classic rock- but now you know “the rest of the story”.

David grew up in La Crosse, Wisconsin and can always remember listening and  enjoying music. The little radio in the kitchen was always playing in the back ground when before his father got home from work. Back then everything was on the A.M. dial. As he got older his interest in music expanded into many directions- his collection is diverse and covers all sorts of  diverse genres.

David has been interested in WDRT as soon as he found out about it and became a founding member. His friend, Greg Leighton “The Blues Hound” suggested that he should get his own show on the station. He started his one hour show on Sunday afternoon with the idea of a folk music show that is about traveling or about different places and experiences. That show “Kickapoo Wanderings” was his first gig and now he has transitioned to hosting a drive-time slot every week.
