Finishing my reading parts of The Nature of Oaks by Douglas Tallamy, we learn about the huge Cicada killer wasps, and the exploits of the female who digs down deep in the soil to place her paralyzed cicada prey and feed her growing egg. Then I read the epilogue.

I also want to promote a book Gardening for Moths, A Regional Guide. It begins w/ an overview of moths…their relationship w/ native plants, the next section profiles about 140 plant species with natural history habitat and growing tips. The 3rd section highlights approximately 150 species of moths, including host plants, interesting facts about the life cycles of both the caterpillar and the adult moth of each species…a valuable resource”      Here’s the perfect resource for creating your oak understory.
