Today we will hear writings of Mary Linton (poetry and an essay on leeches) and Mary Oliver today, the first, a wetland biologist and poet, who taught at UW Whitewater, and the second, a well known Pulitzer Prize winning poet who loved Thoreau and Whitman, she is known for her clear and poignant observations of the natural world.
They have both passed on, but their legacies live on in their keen observations put to pen.
