A well known John Muir story this week; we climb with him to the top of a Douglas Fir during a terrific windstorm to get everything he can from the energy and beauty of the winds. This is called “A Wind Storm in the Forests of the Yuba” and was published in Scribner’s monthly in 1878.
“Instead of camping out, as I usually do, I then chanced to be stopping at the house of a friend. But when the storm began to sound, I lost no time in pushing out into the woods to enjoy it.”
His descriptions of this experience are priceless. Visit sierraclub.org to find all of John Muir’s writings.
