Dry sand prairies are the home of Ornate Box Turtles in Wisconsin. This turtle is the only completely terrestrial (upland) turtle we have in the state, and in my humble opinion, the most beautiful. We will learn about the decades-long efforts, ongoing today, by scientists and volunteers working with an organization called Turtles For Tomorrow, to keep this beautiful animal with us. It’s my honor to read about their work today.
