The Kickapoo Barn Dance, Live From Pie City, is a live musical variety show, broadcast on the first Sunday of every month. The Barn Dance harkens back to regional radio shows of the 1930s–like the Chicago’s National Barn Dance and Nashville’s Grand Ol’ Opry–to bring a variety of family-friendly music and entertainment to a live and radio audience. Each show features a variety of musical guests, including local and touring musicians. The emphasis is on old-time traditional American music, country, folk, and other acoustic players. The show’s house band, the Pie City Ramblers, is a local favorite in the square dance and old-time tradition. The live broadcast begins at 7 p.m. The Barn Dance takes place at the Ark art center on the corner of Washington and Jefferson in downtown Viroqua
