Ben Logan stands beside the stump of the maple tree on his family farm made famous in Logan’s book “The Land Remembers.”

Ben Logan writes of his Christmas memories in Christmas Remembered, first published in 1997. His story starts where he started, in the Driftless Region of southwest Wisconsin, and goes beyond to his memories of Christmas during World War II and after the war when he spent time in Mexico.

“Rituals do not persist simply because they may possess a magical power from outside us,” Logan tells us. “They live because they touch something inside us that is wanting and waiting to come out and express itself.”
