An Update from the WDRT ‘Skeleton Crew’

Posted by on Apr 7, 2020 in News |

Like most other area organizations, WDRT has undergone some big shifts in recent weeks. The station went into ‘skeleton crew’ mode on March 25th, and has been operating with core staffing only. We are currently short 100+ pairs of volunteer hands at the station! While the staff is still able to produce programming on-site, not having DJ’s in the station has created a unique challenge. We’ve been relying on our vast archive of programs, and there are also a handful of DJ’s who’ve been doing their shows from home. We’re working hard to get as many people back on the air as possible, and have been building Home Broadcasting Kits for station volunteers. Expect to hear more DJ’s broadcasting from the comfort of their own home in the coming days! We’re also doing our part to keep people informed. You can hear local and regional updates on the Nearly Noon News, weekdays at 11:55AM, as well as the Community Calendar, which has been providing a listing of community resources, weekdays at 7AM, 10AM & 1PM. Our syndicated news and talk programming has also been providing timely and relevant information, offering valuable perspectives that are unavailable on other media outlets. There’s also a fun new way to engage with the community while you’re cooped-up at home! Call our Community Comment Line at 608-638-9378, and leave your messages of support, hope, humor and connection, and we’ll share it over the airwaves. Thanks to everybody for all your support, and keep it tuned to WDRT, 91.9FM and
