Norskedalen Heritage Site is now open for the summer. The property is a historic open-air museum owned and operated by Norskedalen as a museum and cultural center for classes and events. It has thirteen restored pioneer log buildings nestled in a picturesque valley with a creek and croplands surrounded by forested hills.

 

The Skumsrud Cabin is on site built in 1853 is considered to be the oldest surviving house in the area. The Erickson school house, built in 1871, is a one room school house that was in use until 1907. Numerous other pioneer buildings are on site and all are available to tour with a guide or without.

Admission is $6 for adults, $3 for children, $15 for families, and members are free!

 

Admission price also includes access to Norskedalen Nature and Heritage Center located at N455 O. Ophus Road, Coon Valley, WI 54623 - 3 miles north of Coon Valley, WI on Cty Hwy PI.
